Malden to receive Business for the Arts Award

BOULDER — The Colorado Business Committee for the Arts has named Deborah Malden, an advocate for the arts in Boulder, among the organization’s 12 honorees for the 2023 Business for the Arts Awards.

Malden is the Boulder Chamber’s arts liaison and adviser; she’s also a co-founder of Create Boulder. In addition, her work includes leadership with 3rd Law Dance/Theater, SCFD Board of Directors, Create Boulder, Colorado Business Committee for the Arts’ Colorado Cultural Champions, among others.

In September, she was also given a Women Who Light the Community award by the Boulder Chamber for her contributions to address community needs in the arts.

“A thriving arts and culture sector benefits everyone,” Deborah Malden said in a written statement. “They are the backbone of a vibrant, resilient, healthy, and inclusive society and are a great investment. Every dollar contributed to the arts generates multiple dollars of economic impact on our local economy.”

“There is no one more deserving of this honor,” said John Tayer, president and CEO of Boulder  Chamber. “Deborah’s passionate commitment and amazing achievements shine brightly in the  wide diversity of creative artistic offerings throughout Boulder and across the region. It’s a great  pleasure to see her recognized in this manner.”

Award honorees will be recognized at the Business for the Arts Award luncheon on March 7 in the Seawell Ballroom at the Denver Center for Performing Arts.
