Ikon Pass adds additional ski areas

DENVER — Holders of the Ikon Pass now have access to 50 ski areas located in 10 countries.

The Ikon Pass is a season pass available for use at multiple mountain locations. The Alterra Mountain Co., based in Denver with Colorado operations at Steamboat and Winter Park, offers the Ikon Pass. Vail Resorts Inc. (NYSE: MTN) offers the Epic Pass.

In Colorado, the Ikon Pass can be used at Eldora Mountain Resort, Aspen, Steamboat, Winter Park, Copper Mountain, and Arapahoe Basin.

This year, the association of ski resorts that use Ikon have added the Lotte Arai Resort in Japan and Panorama Mountain Resort in British Columbia, in addition to three additional resorts added last spring — Chamonix Mont-Blanc Valley in France, Sun Valley in Idaho and Snowbasin in Utah.“With the addition of Lotte Arai Resort in Japan and Panorama Mountain Resort in British Columbia, Ikon Pass now offers extensive access for pass holders in some of the best ski and snow regions on the planet,” Erik Forsell, chief marketing officer at Alterra, said in a written statement.
