BOULDER — Theresa Szczurek, CEO of Boulder-based Radish Systems LLC, has stepped down from the position to take a high-profile job in the cabinet of Colorado Gov. Jared Polis. Szczurek assumed a position Jan. 9 as chief information officer/executive director of the Governor’s Office of Information Technology. In that role, she will lead more than 900 staff around the state, driving information-technology solutions and supporting state agencies. Radish provides next-generation omnichannel mobile enterprise communications solutions. The company announced that Ken Jensen has taken over as acting CEO, with co-founder Richard Davis continuing as chairman and chief technology officer. Among other leadership changes: Pam DeBellis, currently director of customer care, has been promoted to chief operating officer. Ida Halasz continues as director of marketing and research. Victor Morrison joins the Radish team as strategic sales consultant, spearheading health-care and pharmaceutical industry sales. Steve Parrish continues as finance consultant overseeing financial management. “We thank Dr. Szczurek for her leadership and wish her well in her important work at the State of Colorado,” Davis said in a written statement. “Under the guidance of Ken Jensen, our new CEO, and the rest of the Radish executive team, Radish has an even stronger future.” Szczurek co-founded and has led Radish since 2009. Radish Systems pioneered “voice-with-visuals” technology that has since become common in mobile communications. Its ChoiceView platform supports its Visual Interactive Voice Response system. Additionally, ChoiceView’s patented technology allows live agent phone transactions to become efficient “voice with visuals” collaboration sessions. Szczurek is a serial technology entrepreneur, founding three technology companies, including one that sold for $40 million. She has served on numerous boards and has written a column on entrepreneurship for BizWest. She has been a longtime judge of the publication’s IQ Awards, honoring the “Innovation Quotient” among Boulder Valley companies.
