Former Boulder Community Hospital deconstruction enters final phase

BOULDER — Deconstruction of the former Boulder Community Hospital is entering its final phase as crews prepare to demolish the building exterior, the city announced in a news release.

The city, along with developer Boulder Housing Partners, is demolishing the former hospital to redevelop the site into affordable housing.

Throughout the deconstruction process, the city has made an effort to reuse as much material from the former hospital as possible. Structural steel from the building is being used in multiple projects, including the construction of a new Fire Station No. 3.

Deconstruction of the hospital exterior will only take place during business hours to minimize disturbances to nearby residents.

The demolition work is expected to last through April 2023.
