BoCo commissioners get earful about CEMEX mining
BOULDER — About 55 people spoke to Boulder County commissioners at their meeting Wednesday about CEMEX’s application to continue mining for 15 years at the Dowe Flats Quarry near Lyons. Most implored the panel to deny the company’s application, but some CEMEX employees also called into the virtual meeting said their jobs depended on it.
According to the Boulder Daily Camera, the board indicated it would continue the hearing until Sept. 29, the day before CEMEX’s mining permit will expire if it isn’t extended.
